Rusted Skillet

1/10/2017 (Permalink)

We tend to dispose of our cooking equipment after rust begins to appear, but there are other alternatives and solutions. We have provided a cleaning method below for a rusted skillet.

Follow These Instructions for a Rust Free Skillet

Materials Required:

  • ½ Cup Salt
  • Cooking oil
  • 1 Potato

Instructions:

  1. Pour the salt on the pan
  2. Cut the potato in half
  3. Use the potato to scrub the pan with the salt
  4. Rinse and repeat when the salt becomes dirty
  5. Rinse the pan with water once the salt has removed the rust
  6. Pat dry and pour oil in the pan to rub it with a paper towel
  7. After the pan has been coated with oil, use a clean paper towel to pat down the excess oil
  8. Keep pan over low heat for 20 minutes
  9. Let the pan cool down for 10 minutes after it has been heated and wipe off remaining oil
